White Collar Factory Column Refurbishment – Central London
To aid the restoration of the White Collar Factory in London, the main restoration contractors Multiplex sourced Intercity Contractors to refurbish the structural columns within the building. The White Collar Factory, situated on Old Street Roundabout is surrounded by Shoreditch, Hoxton and Clerkenwell along with other neighbouring villages. Home to Tech City, Old Street is a vibrant community of successful start ups and established digital corporations. A globally recognised cluster, the diverse range of creative and technology industries are driving the regeneration, growth and development of the area. The community is an energetic and diverse hub where even the world’s foremost companies aspire to call home.
The columns were originally concrete encased pillars but the factory wanted an exposed rustic look to showcase the steel columns and rivets, so the concrete was removed and Intercity shot blasted the columns to bare metal. We then primed the columns, coated them in a 90 minutes fire rated intumescent coat and then finished the aesthetic with an approved top coat.
