Car Park Floor Painting at Cadent Gas Depot, Central London
Intercity Contractors completed the preparation, coating and line marking of a new indoor concrete car park at a Cadent Gas depot in Central London.
The project required a durable flooring system capable of withstanding regular vehicle movements and pedestrian traffic while providing clearly defined parking, access and safety areas.
Concrete Floor Preparation
The concrete floor was mechanically prepared using specialist floor grinding equipment. Preparation requirements vary according to the condition and hardness of the concrete, so the process is selected to provide the correct surface profile for the subsequent coating system.
Correct preparation is a critical part of achieving good adhesion and a durable finished floor.
Heavy-Duty Epoxy Resin Floor Coating
Following preparation, the main floor area was coated with a durable grey epoxy resin system designed for the demands of an operational car park.
The coating provides a hard-wearing, practical surface capable of dealing with continual vehicle and pedestrian traffic while creating a clean, professional finish throughout the facility.
Car Park Line Marking & Safety Areas
Once the main coating had been completed, Intercity Contractors installed the required parking and operational markings using durable contrasting coatings.
These included white parking bays, designated disabled parking spaces, pedestrian walkways and yellow cross-hatched areas to clearly identify areas where vehicles should not park.
The cross-hatched areas were carefully measured and marked out by hand using 500 mm centres, helping create a consistent and professional finished layout.
