SHOT BLASTING & DIAMOND GRINDING
Our concrete floor preparation contractors use captive shot blasting and diamond grinding to prepare factory, warehouse, workshop and other commercial and industrial concrete floors.
These processes can remove failed coatings and weak surface material, eliminate laitance and remove polished or power-floated finishes where required.

Not every industrial floor requires complete surface preparation. Where an existing coating or power-floated finish remains serviceable, we can prepare only the areas that need treatment.
Our specialist equipment includes custom-built floor shot blasting machinery capable of preparing precise areas such as 100mm lines, walkways and operational markings without unnecessarily stripping the surrounding floor.
Using specialist SPE shot blasting equipment, we can tailor the preparation method to the requirements of the existing surface and the new coating system.

3. SURFACE PREPARATION
Existing coatings, contamination and weak surface material are removed using the appropriate preparation method, including captive shot blasting or diamond grinding.
4. PAINTING & COATINGS
Where required, the prepared floor progresses into primer, industrial floor painting, epoxy resin coatings, line marking or other specified floor systems.
5. INSPECTION & COMPLETION
Completed works are inspected before handover, with the finished floor checked against the agreed project requirements.

What methods do you use to prepare concrete floors?
We use specialist mechanical preparation methods including captive shot blasting and diamond grinding. Why does a concrete floor need preparing before painting or coating?
Correct preparation creates a clean, sound and appropriately profiled substrate for primers, industrial floor paints and epoxy resin systems to adhere to. Applying a coating directly to contaminated, weak, polished or inadequately prepared concrete can compromise adhesion, durability and the finished floor system.
Can you prepare an existing industrial floor without removing the entire surface?
Yes. Where existing areas remain serviceable, we can undertake targeted preparation rather than treating the complete floor. Our specialist equipment allows us to prepare defined areas such as production zones, walkways and 100mm line markings while retaining surrounding surfaces where appropriate.
Can concrete floor preparation be carried out around ongoing operations?
Yes. We regularly work within factories, warehouses and other operational commercial and industrial environments. We coordinate access, working areas and timescales with site managers and other contractors, and work can be phased where appropriate to minimise disruption while maintaining the necessary health and safety controls.
Can you remove existing floor coatings and contamination?
Yes. We can remove failed, damaged or unwanted floor coatings including paint, epoxy resin, glue and latex residues, together with surface contamination such as dirt, grime, oils and other deposits. We can also remove laitance from new concrete and mechanically prepare polished or power-floated surfaces where a suitable profile is required for subsequent painting or coating.
Do you offer anti-slip concrete floor preparation and coatings?
Yes. Concrete floors can be mechanically prepared to create an appropriate surface profile and improve traction, while we can also provide specialist anti-slip floor coating systems where additional slip resistance is required. Different coating grades are available for demanding commercial and industrial environments including factories, warehouses, dispatch areas and other high-traffic or potentially wet working areas.
