1. What types of workshops do you provide floor painting for?

Every workshop operates differently, so the existing floor, traffic, machinery, contaminants, cleaning requirements and day-to-day use should all be considered when selecting an appropriate floor coating system.
2. Why should I repaint my workshop floor?
Workshop floors can deteriorate through regular foot traffic, machinery, vehicles, tools, oils, chemicals, cleaning and general operational wear. Repainting can refresh a tired working environment, protect the underlying concrete, make the floor easier to clean and maintain, improve its appearance and provide an opportunity to reorganise walkways, work bays, storage areas and other operational zones.
3. Can workshop floor painting improve health and safety?
A properly planned workshop floor can contribute to a safer and more organised working environment. Depending on the requirements of the site, floor coatings can incorporate anti-slip finishes alongside clearly defined pedestrian walkways, vehicle routes, work areas, restricted zones, storage areas and other safety or operational markings. We work with the appropriate site and health and safety personnel to ensure the work is planned around the requirements of the facility.
4. Can you paint workshop floors around machinery and equipment?
Yes. Many workshop floor projects involve existing machinery, workstations, equipment or production areas that cannot simply be removed from the entire building. The project can be assessed and planned around the operational requirements of the workshop, including access, machinery locations and areas that need to remain available. Where practical, work can be phased so individual sections are prepared, coated and returned to service progressively.
5. Can workshop floor painting be completed without shutting down the whole workshop?
In many cases, yes, although some disruption is normally unavoidable because areas need to be cleared, prepared, coated and given appropriate time before being returned to use. We can work with site management, operations teams and other relevant personnel to plan access, phasing and working areas with the objective of minimising disruption while allowing the work to be completed properly and safely.
6. How do you prepare an existing workshop floor before painting?
Preparation depends on the condition of the existing floor and coating. Workshop floors can have contamination, worn coatings, damaged areas, oil residues and other issues that need to be considered before a new system is applied. The surface may require cleaning, repairs and mechanical preparation to create a suitable substrate for the chosen coating. The appropriate preparation method is determined after assessing the existing floor and its intended use.
7. What type of floor coating is best for a workshop?
There is no single coating that is right for every workshop. The appropriate system depends on factors such as the substrate, condition of the existing floor, pedestrian and vehicle traffic, machinery, exposure to oils or chemicals, cleaning requirements, slip resistance and the finish required. Epoxy resin and other specialist industrial floor coating systems can be considered according to the demands of the particular environment.
8. Can you include line marking and different workshop zones as part of the project?
Yes. Floor painting and line marking can be planned together to help organise the workshop around the way it operates. This can include pedestrian walkways, vehicle routes, work bays, machinery areas, assembly areas, storage zones, service bays and other designated working or safety areas. This is particularly useful when a workshop is being refurbished, machinery is being moved or the operational layout is changing.
