Intercity Contractors completed the refurbishment of a large workshop floor in Warwickshire, preparing the existing concrete surface before installing a durable, high-gloss epoxy resin floor coating system.

The approximately 900m² workshop required a hard-wearing finish suitable for a busy operational environment, with clearly defined safety markings incorporated into the completed floor.

Preparing the Existing Workshop Floor

Correct preparation was essential to achieving a durable finished surface. The existing concrete floor was prepared using HTC floor grinding equipment, creating the appropriate surface profile for the new coating system.

The floor was then thoroughly cleaned and prepared before application of the primer and subsequent epoxy resin coatings.

High-Gloss Epoxy Resin Floor Coating

A light grey high-gloss epoxy resin floor system was selected for the workshop.

The finished surface provides a tough, practical floor that is easier to maintain while the lighter colour and reflective finish help maximise available light throughout the working environment.

This makes epoxy resin flooring particularly suitable for workshops, engineering facilities, factories and other industrial environments where durability and appearance are both important.

Safety Yellow Line Marking

The project was completed with contrasting Safety Yellow markings to identify designated operational areas and provide clear visual separation across the workshop floor.

Combining preparation, floor painting and line marking within the same project allowed Intercity Contractors to deliver the complete floor as one coordinated installation.
