Factory Floor Painting at Oadby Plastics, Leicester
Intercity Contractors completed the preparation and refurbishment of an industrial factory floor for Oadby Plastics Ltd in Leicester, creating a hard-wearing epoxy resin surface with clearly defined pedestrian routes and operational areas.
The project combined specialist mechanical preparation, industrial floor coatings and line marking to produce a brighter, cleaner and more practical working environment.
Specialist Factory Floor Preparation
The existing concrete surface was mechanically prepared using specialist floor grinding equipment. This removed contaminants and provided the appropriate surface profile for adhesion of the new coating system.
Areas of old latex remaining on the concrete also had to be removed before the new flooring system could be applied.
Thorough preparation is particularly important in factory environments where the finished coating must withstand continual traffic and demanding operational conditions.
Hard-Wearing Epoxy Resin Floor Coating
Following preparation, the floor received the required primer before the application of a hard-wearing grey epoxy resin coating system.
The light grey finish creates a clean industrial appearance while helping reflect available light throughout the factory.
Epoxy resin flooring provides a durable and practical surface for manufacturing and production environments where floors are subjected to regular pedestrian traffic, machinery and everyday industrial use.
Pedestrian Walkways & Factory Line Marking
The project was completed with contrasting red pedestrian walkways and operational markings to provide clearly defined routes through the factory.
At the customer’s request, pedestrian symbols were also applied using specialist stencils, making the intended use of the walkways immediately identifiable.
Combining the floor coating and line marking as part of the same project produced a coordinated finish across the working environment.
