During the Christmas and New Years period, our team of floor painting specialists at Intercity Contractors have been working hard at Oadby Plastics in Cannock. The customer wanted bold contrasting line-painting to designate specific areas and walkways on the existing concrete floor.
We used our specially modified dust-free captive shot blasting machine to carefully blast 100mm lines into the power floated concrete floor below ready for a new coating of polyurethane paint. The customer opted for a currant red to outline walkways on their warehouse floor which contrasted nicely with the existing, lighter coloured, polished concrete finish.
By shot blasting the power floated concrete surface, the porous concrete below is exposed to ensure the paint adheres properly by soaking in. Our specialist machine’s operation meant no more than the necessary area is stripped, ensuring the entire floor is still as protected as ever.
We applied four coats of the specially designed polyurethane floor coating which will guarantee 10+ years of heavy use from the likes of forklift trucks and other routine working factory wear and tear.
